Riobamba is located in the Middle of Ecuador at 188 km from Quito and 233 km from Guayaquil, you can reach any city in a few hours.

As a result of being surrounded by beautiful mountains and volcanoes as Carihuayrazo, Tungurahua and Altar and the imposing Chimborazo Riobamba is known as “Sultana de los Andes” “Andean Sultan” and it is the city in which many important poets, writers, scientists and politicians were formed.

Since the first half of the 20th century, time of important social, cultural and economic development, there are extraordinary neoclassic style buildings preserved.

One of the significant factors for the development of the city and province was the use of the railroad at the beginning of the century.
Nowadays, the railroad does touristic tours. You can enjoy the beautiful landscapes through the “Avenida de los Volcanes”/“Volcanoes Avenue” to “La Nariz del Diablo”/“The Devil’s Nose”, a marvelous work of engineering in the railroad line, that because of its wild tours it has been called “the hardest railroad of the world”.
